546 Years of Islam in Bosnia - Kamengrad 2009

In year 1463. Ottoman Turks led by Sultan Mehmed II al-Fatih(The Conqueror) conquered Bosnia. That means Bosnia and Herzegovina is marking 546th anniversary of Islam's presence.
On a friday during his expedition Sultan Mehmed II prayed his jumuah-prayer with 250 000 soldiers on a flat empty ground in Western Bosnia. For that occasion he ordered a musalla(small covered building consisted of mihrab and minber, it can be seen in the picture on the left) to be built. Every year on the first friday of July there is a big religious gathering in Kamengrad(Sanski Most Municipality) where musalla is.
